Things to do in and around The Crags, Nature's Valley, on the Garden Route
You can use the Google Map above to check out some of the places for you to visit in the area.Enjoy relaxing on our farm
Spend some time exploring our farm and being entertained by our beautiful animals. We have two dogs (sometimes more!) who love to play and three horses in the fields. For those hot summer days you can take a jump into our (organic) swimming pool to cool off, or if the sun isn't out you can have a game of pool or play some of the games we have in our lounge. Then there's always the FREE WIFI Internet access for those of you who just cannot disconnect. Then, come the evening, relax in front of our wood fire with the dogs curled at your feet and try to decide what you're going to do the next day! In the evenings jump in our 25 year old JEEP for an off road scramble through the forests to Bobbejaans Kloof for sundowners overlooking one of the most stunning valleys in the area. And what do we charge for this outing? Nothing at all!
Beautiful hikes around the backpackers
Take a walk to our very own waterfall and jump into the rock pool to cool off. Then jump out again and dry off while relaxing on a fallen tree before taking a walk through our Magic Forest where the outside world dissapears and the indigenous forest envelops you. Finally, if you have time, head over to our 3 oldest trees on the farm - giant Yellowoods that are estimated to be over 1000 years old.Longer Hikes around Natures Valley
Take a more energetic hike in Nature's Valley. You can hike along the coast and over the montains with the Salt River Cove Trail, or through dense forest and Fynbos vegetation with the Kalanderkloof Trail. Of course you could always embark on an epic 5 hour circular jaunt that combines both trails for one of the most amazing day hikes you'll do in South Africa.Nature's Valley beach is also the end point for the famous 5 day Otter Trail hike. Then there is also the Tsitsikamma Hiking Trail. Both hikes require advanced booking through SAN Parks, contact us for more information. We can arrange a shuttle service to get you to the start of all the hiking trails.
